The Apple iPhone 5S is rumored to be coming late in the third quarter. A report out of Japan on Thursday says that one of the colors that the next iteration of the Apple iPhone will come in is gold. Based on that report it looks like that that gold colored SIM tray that we showed you the other day, is a legitimate part of the Apple iPhone 5S. Other colors mentioned are white and silver.


According to Japan's Macotakara, the phone will be released in August and will have an upgraded CPU. We do expect to see the Apple A7 under the hood of the Apple iPhone 5S, and an improved camera. And now, apparently, a multitude of color options will be made available, including gold. Despite speculation that Apple is toying with the idea of building a 5.7 inch iPhone, this year's new model will be the same size as the Apple iPhone 5. That means you can expect the 4 inch display to be around for at least one more year.

According to the report, the Apple iPad mini 2 will also be released in August, although there is no word when the full-sized, fifth-generation Apple iPad will be offered. And according to the story, the low cost version of the iPhone will be launched in September although the colors it will be available in have not yet been decided upon. Black, white, pink, orange and blue appear to be the front runners while green has been scratched.

The Apple iPad mini has been a success, there's no doubt about that. And as every successful device, it's bound to have a successor at some point. We're pretty sure that Apple is going to introduce a new iPad mini this year, one that will fix the tablet's biggest drawback - the low resolution.

Things, however, are starting to get much more interesting now that NPD DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim has said that he expects Apple to follow this new iPad mini with yet another one in early 2014, possible even in Q1 2014. According to Shim, Apple's going to pull a "New iPad" kind of a move - with a resolution upgrade in the second half of this year and a quick under-the-hood refresh early next one. The 2014 iPad mini is said to come with a faster processor in order to keep the device as competitive as possible.

The sources claim that it's not clear yet what kind of screen technology the new iPad mini is going to use. The main concern in this regard is that such advanced displays as the ones Apple is using in its latest devices are still slow to produce, which means that the tablet's release may happen later in the year than what was initially expected.

The Apple iPhone 5 comes with a brand new 4" IPS LCD with a resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels, which adds up to a pixel density of 326ppi. This makes Apple's latest smartphone the first mobile device from the company to feature a 16:9 aspect screen.

The change in aspect ratio means that the iPhone 5 display is actually just 21% bigger than the iPhone 4S LCD screen, instead of the 25% increase the difference in the diagonal suggests.

The software - iOS 6 - should be very familiar to Apple users, but the hardware is new. It's not like the big iPads, which mostly varied in thickness, this one has been designed to comfortably hold in one hand and slip into a coat pocket.

MacBook Pro Price and Specification - As the issues that had appeared a few days earlier, Apple is releasing a new version of MacBook Pro laptop that uses Intel's Sandy Bridge. Available on three variants of each of these 13, 15, and 17 inches with a choice of dual core processors and quad cores.
